32 kW Farm Install with Tesla Powerwalls — Shropshire Dairy

A working dairy farm needed daytime solar for milking parlours and battery to time-shift evening loads when electricity rates spike.

System size

32 kWp

Battery

2× Tesla Powerwall 3 (27 kWh)

Annual saving

£8,400/year

Payback

6.8 years

The Challenge

The farm had 700m of barn roof but spread across 4 separate buildings with different orientations. DNO connection limited to 50 kW G99 export. Daytime load peaked at lunchtime when staff were on tea break.

Our Solution

Split-array design across 3 buildings totalling 32 kWp, all DC-coupled to a single Tesla Powerwall 3 + expansion. Storm Watch enabled for rural reliability during outages.

The Result

First year actual generation 31,800 kWh (vs 31,200 PV*SOL prediction). 86% self-consumption thanks to battery shifting evening loads. Annual saving £8,400 against pre-install bills.
